Job Description

Compliance/Enforcement Investigators perform investigative and enforcement functions to monitor compliance and enforce State and/or federal laws or regulations pertaining to a specific program or regulatory area. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This recruitment will be used to fill multiple vacancies within the division. These positions work within the Department of Business & Industry, Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA), Enforcement Unit and are located in Las Vegas, NV. The Compliance/Enforcement Investigators will represent the NTA at meetings and hearings as well as conduct investigations into and inspections of certificated carriers. Incumbents are responsible for patrolling the southern areas of Nevada to enforce all Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS), Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) that are under the NTA's authority. Additional responsibilities include conducting surveillance of persons or companies providing unlicensed transportation of passengers and goods, as well as assisting in the processing of drivers' permits and background investigations.
