Job Description and Duties Under the direction of a Special Agent Supervisor, the Special Agent will conduct criminal investigations involving allegations of fraud perpetrated against the California Medical Assistance Program (Medi-Cal) by providers of medical and related services; patient abuse and neglect which occur in Medicaid certified facilities; and the diversion of pharmaceutical drugs by Medi-Cal providers. Specifically, the incumbent will: conduct criminal investigations; conduct undercover operations; prepare written investigative reports; prepare and serve search warrants; gather evidence including computer hardware and data; use and maintain investigative and protective equipment; use and maintain computer hardware and software for data analysis and case preparation; coordinate investigations with other law enforcement agencies; work closely with prosecutors in preparing cases for court; testify in court and make arrests as a result of investigations; and perform other duties as required. Physician - Primary Care Compensation and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $12,289 - $13,483 per month Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $12,289 - $20,871 per month This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position. This position is on an 11/12 Pay Plan which is equivalent to eleven months of salary distributed over a 12-month period. The scheduled month off will be July. Initial appointment will be on a 12 month pay plan (salary range: $13,406 - $14,708 per month) from the date of hire through the end of the July 2024 pay period. At the beginning of the August 2024 pay period, the appointment will change to an 11/12 pay plan whereby the incumbent will work 11 months per year and are paid 12 months (11/12) with each subsequent July off. Physician - Primary Care Compensation and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $12,289 - $13,483 per month Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $12,289 - $20,871 per month This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position. This position is on an 11/12 Pay Plan which is equivalent to eleven months of salary distributed over a 12-month period. The scheduled month off will be July. Initial appointment will be on a 12 month pay plan (salary range: $13,406 - $14,708 per month) from the date of hire through the end of the July 2024 pay period. At the beginning of the August 2024 pay period, the appointment will change to an 11/12 pay plan whereby the incumbent will work 11 months per year and are paid 12 months (11/12) with each subsequent July off. Key Qualifications Thorough knowledge of and the ability to effectively and efficiently apply the principles and methods essential to the diagnosis and treatment of common primary care medical disorders, and in the assessment and response to acute medical situations. Understanding of community resources for referral of medical care and treatment beyond the scope of the Student Health Center. Knowledge of current public health practices. Knowledge of local, state, and national laws and regulations pertaining to the medical field. Thorough knowledge of applicable professional ethics standards and patient privacy. Knowledge and understanding of current recognized standards of care within the scope of licensure. Knowledge of and ability to use computer office systems and technology. Ability to serve as a mentor and resource consultant for other health center personnel. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of medical practitioners and specialists, as well as students, administrators, staff, faculty, and those from varied marginalized communities.
