Job Description


This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time/seasonal Lead Food Services Assistant vacancies on an as needed basis. The City will refer to the pool of part-time applications on file, as needed, to fill vacancies. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements of the position will remain in the pool for 12 months.

Under general supervision, serves as a working supervisor responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and assisting in overseeing the day-to-day food services functions for Senior Nutrition programs; and performs related duties as assigned.

Lead Food Services Assistant positions are available in facilities throughout the City of Henderson. Work locations and assignments are subject to change based on the needs of the City.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a food service program, preferably for a municipal or public agency.
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
  • Must present a Food Handler's Safety Training card issued by the Southern Nevada Health District at the time of hire.
  • Must obtain American Red Cross, or equivalent, standard First Aid and CPR certifications within the first three (3) months of employment.
  • Completion of the ServSafe Food Handler Program within the first three (3) months of employment.
  • Desirable: Supervisory work experience.
  • Desirable: Basic computer experience.
