Job Description and Duties FORESTRY AIDE (SEASONAL) - GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT / FOLSOM LAKE STATE RECREATION AREA Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. The Forestry Aide is a higher-level maintenance crewmember than the standard crewmember (Maintenance Aide). The position is experienced and proficient in crewmember duties and may assist with on-the-job training of entry level crewmembers and leading maintenance crews, volunteer, conservation crew work projects. The FA position will primarily perform manual labor to restore, protect, and enhance CA State Park’s natural resources, and trail system, often in remote locations away from roads and facilities. This job requires working outdoors in inclement weather and smoky conditions related to prescribed fire. Chainsaw and Basic Firefighter training must be attended when available. Current basic fire fighter certification (FF Type II), GPS/GIS, chain saw use and tree felling experience are a plus. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license.
