Pajaro Revitalization Contract/Grant Analyst - this Limited Term (2 years) Full-Time Employee will serve as the Pajaro Revitalization Contract/Grant Analyst for the department, administering a $20,000,000 program funded by AB 102 allocated to the County of Monterey for the provision of flood relief for the local community of Pajaro. The Monterey County Health Department exists to enhance, protect, and improve the health of the people in Monterey County. To accomplish this, the Department provides a wide variety of health-related services in the areas of public health, environmental health, behavioral health, and clinic services. Administration Bureau - Planning, Evaluation, and Policy Unit - This position will be responsible for overseeing the evaluation and monitoring of CalAIM initiatives including Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports services, conducting community health needs assessments. Position Information Do you have drafting and design experience? The County of Sonoma Water Agency (Sonoma Water) seeks a CAD Design Technician to join the Engineering and Resource Planning Division's CAD/GIS Team. Using your skillset in AutoCAD Civil 3D, you will work alongside project managers to design and draft projects for large capacity, high-pressure aqueducts; high volume wastewater treatment plans; sanitation collection systems and large capacity steel water reservoirs and other assets and facilities that Sonoma Water owns and operates. As a Sonoma Water CAD Design Technician you are working with the CAD/GIS Coordinator facilitating section communications and sharing your knowledge of Civil Water projects and CAD software with the drafting team. Essential Job Functions An Environmental Engineering Specialist is responsible for performing a combination of the following essential job functions: Conducts field biological and ecological investigations of streams, rivers, lakes, the ocean, and flood control facilities to prepare technical reports for presentations; Conducts evaluation of project environmental impacts and prepares technical reports and specifications to portray environmental impact significance, and provides assistance related to environmental issues (e.g. biology, ecology, social ecology, botany); Conducts field biological assessments and analysis on endangered species and wildlife surveys of native habitat and vegetation; Conducts field biological surveys on fauna and flora, assessing proposed developments for impact on plant life and related resources, and the preparation and evaluation of plant habitat restoration; Prepares environmental impact statements and recommends corrective actions and alternatives; Performs analysis and interprets the results of biological, microbiological, biochemical, physical, bacteriological and parasitological tests; Completes studies, flood protection, habitat enhancement and restoration efforts, open space and trails and stream stewardship activities; Analyzes and evaluates available data on the effects of water pollutants, waste management, water diversions, and water use on human health, vegetation, fish, wildlife, water supplies, potential land uses, and other aspects of the environment and makes recommendations for remediation; Responds to reports of toxic waste spills and similar emergencies that may have significant impact to the ecosystem and provides remediation guidance; Attends public meetings and may provide technical expertise to a wide variety of individuals, organizations and agencies in the public and private sectors on matters impacting watershed management, planning activities and solicits input on assigned program, project or study; Responds to and resolves citizen inquiries and complaints associated with environmental issues. Requirements SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college* or university in environmental, ecological, biological, chemical, atmospheric or earth science, natural science, marine biology, oceanography -AND- Two years of full-time paid professional experience** related to environmental and watershed management. A Master's degree from an accredited college* in one of the above-mentioned fields maybe substituted for one year of the required experience. PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS: Physical Class II- Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved . LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. Additional Information OUR ASSESSMENT PROCESS: This examination will consist of an interview covering education, experience, work style and general ability to perform the duties of the position, weighted 100%. Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the interview in order to be placed on the eligible register. ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION: The names of candidates receiving a passing grade in the examination will be placed on the eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.
