Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Resource Manager for the College of Natural and Social Sciences (NSS), the incumbent is directly responsible for independently developing, planning, providing, integrating and supporting information technology based-solutions and systems. Incumbent will: provide consultative support to students, staff and faculty; support NSS and faculty with creation of instructional media and implementation of website; ensure compliance with federal and state laws, applicable regulations, CSU and campus policies, standards, and procedures related to information security; provide support to faculty and staff in all designated offices to increase computer use and effectiveness; provide training and communication materials to users that maximize their ability to utilize system capabilities, features and other resources; install, reimage, modify and configure computers and applications on PC and Macintosh computers and servers; troubleshoot hardware, software and network problems; serve as liaison between designated office/centers and Information Services and NSS: provide technical advice and expertise in the evaluation, purchase, upgrade and maintenance of software and/or hardware resources; provide training to designated faculty and office staff in the use of network and communication tools, Microsoft Office, Drupal and web accessibility; and maintain and keep track of college IT equipment and software inventory. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science, information systems, education technology, industrial technology, or related technical fields or similar coursework in applicable fields of study. Two years of experience in computer user consultation with emphasis in a multi-platform computing environment. Thorough knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages; web design applications; equipment platforms (Mac and PC); reference database systems and sources; and training methods. Thorough understanding of networks; data communication; multimedia systems and security; knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program, equipment platforms, training, methods and understanding of network, data communications and multimedia systems; and proficient in Microsoft Office. Description San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of IS Business Analyst II - Limited Term . The current vacancy is limited term in the Health IT Division. This position is located in San Mateo, CA, but will travel/drive throughout the County to perform duties of the job. Primary responsibilities will include: Participate in the modification of existing systems and/or the implementation of new systems by developing, writing, and disseminating procedures that utilize new or changed system applications and by evaluating system modifications in response to operational, program, and/or regulatory changes. Provide assistance as requested related to the use of department and/or program systems and software applications; determine severity of problem and resolve or refer to appropriate personnel or vendor for resolution. Participate in a variety of system user and work groups to identify user needs and operational, programmatic, and/or regulatory changes affecting application requirements and other related issues. Coordinate and direct the work of software vendors to identify and resolve programming and other operational problems; coordinate the scheduling of corrective patches and upgrades between vendors and staff; interact with vendors, external agencies, auditors, or other staff to obtain requested data or special reports.
