Minimal Qualifications: 1). Doctoral degree in public health - Ph.D. or D.P.H. - or a closely related field. A.B.D.'s will be considered if the expected degree completion date is August 2021. Candidates with a degree in a related field may be considered if they have a master's degree in public health. 2). Experience in teaching courses in areas of expertise. 3). Evidence of potential to conduct independent research in area of expertise. 4). Leadership skills and the ability/desire to work multi-disciplinarily in envisioning and realizing the potential and future of the new program in public health. 5). Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.

Preferred Qualifications: 1). Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation. 2). Experience with grant writing and/or program/grant management. 3). Experience with student success and support initiatives. 4). Community-based public health experience.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Mandated Reporter: The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Application: Applications should be sent electronically to the contact listed above. The application packet must include 1). A cover letter detailing the candidate's qualifications and experience relative to this position description. Candidates should indicate for which of the two positions they wish to be considered. 2). A curriculum vitae including names and contact information for at least three references. 3). A statement describing teaching philosophy including how the candidate would foster an inclusive classroom. 4). A statement describing scholarship accomplishments and goals. 5). A statement of contribution to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
