Longevity Bonus for years of service Position Description: HIV Survielliance Epidemiologist I or II will conducts passive HIV surveillance activities,data quality assurance,and data analyses to describe the epidemiology of HIV in Oklahoma and to detect and monitorHIVclusters andoutbreaks, and analyzesurveillancedata todescribe the epidemiology of HIV in Oklahoma and to identify and trackmolecular and non-molecularHIVclusters. Duties: Analyzesurveillancedata todescribe the epidemiology of HIV in Oklahoma and to identify and trackmolecular and non-molecularHIVclusters. Calculate basic summary statistics and other basic statistical measures. Analyze data using SAS, Microsoft Excel, and ArcGIS. Analyze HIV cluster data usingSecure HIV-TRACE. Prepare and arrangestatistical tables and charts for compilation into manuals, handbooks, and reports. Determine and utilizeappropriate statistical methods to evaluate and interpretdata. Participate in working groups related to HIV cluster detection and response in Oklahoma such as: SHHRS Outbreak Detection and Response Team Oklahoma HIV and Hepatitis Planning Council CDR Subcommittee Perform data quality assurance activities and develop evaluation plans, contributing to the improvement of HIV surveillance data and activities . Assist with the HIV Linkage to Care project, producing data sets and progress reports. Assist withpresentations onthe epidemiology of HIV for diverse audiences. Assist in processing data requests,providing clear and concise results. Demonstrateknowledge of and supportmission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards,andthe code of ethical behavior. Workeffectively in a team environment, participating with and assistingpeers. Minimum Qualifications: Level I : Master’s degree in public health, biological, medical, or health science which includes 6 semester hours in epidemiological methods and 6 semester hours of other epidemiological coursework and 9 semester hours in statistical methods and analysis. Level II : Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a master’s degree in Epidemiology and one year of experience in a field involving the use of epidemiological research, investigation, and analysis or a doctorate in epidemiology. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting with a climate controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long period of sitting and daily use of computer and phone. Some work related travel is required. Telework: This position may be eligible for hybrid Telework after a training period, and is subject to OSDH policy and supervisor’s discretion.
