POSITION INFORMATION This classification is scheduled to receive a general wage increase of 4% in July 2024. The Placer County Sheriff's Office dispatch center is located in beautiful Auburn, California, less than two hours away from Reno/Tahoe or San Francisco. The dispatch center features full sit-to-stand ergonomic work stations, a locker room, a full kitchen, a quiet room, a balcony with BBQ, skylights, and second-story views from wall-to-wall windows. The center provides dispatch services for law enforcement, fire, and medical. Dispatchers are trained to provide lifesaving instructions over the phone through Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). The center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The current schedule is three 12-hour shifts each week and an eight hour shift every other week. Public Safety Dispatchers receive a competitive benefit package including 13 paid holidays per year, 12 paid sick days per year, generous contributions to CalPERS, and access to an employee assistance program. Dispatchers who work on holidays receive overtime compensation for the actual number of hours worked in addition to holiday pay. The City of Vallejo is seeking candidates for two Instrument Technician positions, as collaborative members of the City's Water Department. Instrument Technicians will be able to effectively, efficiently and safely perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, calibration, installation, and repair of a variety of instrumentation and electrical equipment. The Job Immediate vacancy for P/T Telecommunications Tower Maintenance Technician San Bernardino County's Special Districts Department, Television District near Barstow, is recruiting for Part-time Tower Maintenance Technicians . Working with the Communications Engineer, the Tower Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing superior high frequency TV signals to thousands of residential homes in the area. The Tower Maintenance Technician will perform routine and on-going maintenance and operation of the television system, including two towers on Elephant Mountain, serving the communities of Barstow, Newberry Springs, Hinkley, and Daggett, with UHF and VHF digital television signals utilized by 35,000 households. This position will report to the office/technical repair station located at Pioneer Park in Lucerne Valley, approximately 60 miles/1 hour from downtown San Bernardino. Elephant Mountain is located near Barstow, an additional 40 miles from Lucerne Valley. Transportation from the Lucerne Valley office to the remote TV District location will be arranged and provided by the department. The Department provides potable water to 121,000 customers through a highly complex system including multiple raw water sources, three treatment plants, a Sludge Dewatering Facility, 600 miles of distribution pipes, 8 pressure zones, 27 pump stations, and 37,000 service connections. Vallejo Water is a Treatment-5/Distribution-5system. In 2017, Vallejo water services transitioned from a division of Public Works, to a standalone Water Department reporting directly to the City Manager. This change gives drinking water-related operations and issues greater visibility and strategic direction for the benefit of rate-payers. The Water Department's strategic goals include: infrastructure reliability, public trust, sustainability, organizational performance, and financial viability. The Water Department has six Divisions: Water Treatment, Engineering, Distribution, Watershed and Facilities Management, and Administration/Conservation. In 2017, Vallejo water services transitioned from a division of Public Works, to a standalone Water Department reporting directly to the City Manager.
