Reporting to CETL's Executive Director, the Sr. Designer/Coordinator will work in a fast-paced team environment. They will serve as an instructional design team lead and help oversee programming and course redesign operations. The Sr. Designer/Coordinator will function as the project manager of the following areas. Create new signature university programs that support faculty teaching in the Prison B.A. Program (Prison Graduation Initiative) in coordination with PaGE expand programming offerings beyond Cal State LA faculty to outside audiences, supporting other California higher education institutions and workforce development initiatives, design and develop programming content, provide project management, and coordinate with faculty program directors. Design workforce development programming and professional learning opportunities for lecturers, addressing pressing issues facing higher education teaching and learning related to equity. Design and create short and long form programming, offered multi-modally, e.g., live in-person/online, or asynchronously. Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Academic Affairs ATI initiatives, mandated by federal law and Chancellor's office directives for accessible instructional materials. Develop faculty outreach and awareness campaigns. Serve on the ATI AIM subcommittee. Coordinate ATI AIM efforts through related programs (Online Course Development Program). Create programming that supports faculty, departments, and colleges in developing curriculum to effectively use artificial intelligence (AI), anticipating disruptive technological and societal changes that affect enrollment and retention. Project management duties include developing/maintaining project plans and sharing progress reports to keep stakeholders informed. The incumbent also develops modular instructional design elements and processes for their assigned programs ( e.g., templates, training resources, samples/examples). Job Summary The University Web and User Experience Designer works under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Web Development and receives art direction from the Senior Director of Creative Strategy in partnership with Director of Digital Marketing and Communications. Classification Analyst/Programmer - Career Position Information The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Human Resources Technical Developer/Analyst to provide technical support for CSU's PeopleSoft HCM application. Information Systems’ Application Development area encompasses application support and upgrade activities for 23 campuses and the CSU Chancellor’s Office (CO), integration with other third-party/external and/or internal systems, the consolidation of the HR databases implementation (CHRS). The Human Resources Technical Developer/Analyst requires proactive initiative to resolve the complex HCM application issues in support/development areas that include implementation, system analysis, planning, design, development, and support of the Human Resources application. The career level position must possess comprehensive technical knowledge of the HCM system, database management and working experience with PeopleSoft Web Services. Specific technical support and development assignments may change at any time based on Application Development’s projects and priorities, including supporting other applications within the area. Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Application Operations , the Human Resources Technical Developer/Analyst will: -Create new technical development based on functional specifications. -Support technical development of the PeopleSoft HCM application using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Web Services, Integration Broker, Application Designer, Application Messaging, Application Engine, complex SQR, etc. -Provide production support for the 23 CSU campuses by analyzing and troubleshooting campus application issues reported through Service Now help desk tickets. Coordinate PeopleSoft updates, fixes, upgrades, and installations. Advise campus programmers on technical development, environment control, and maintenance issues. Collaborate with functional leads on ongoing maintenance and development. -Assist Technical Developer/Analysts on development efforts, best practices and documentation. -Participate on project teams to implement new system functionality within the PeopleSoft HCM application. -Analyze, design, code, and unit test application solutions from requirements using defined processes and procedures. Present analysis to management and other project teams. -Document code changes throughout the development process. -Provide estimates and timeframes for development work and deliverables. -Deliver effective solutions on time and adhere to development and quality standards. -Communicate and enforce best practice coding standards. -Track and coordinate Databases for internal development, testing and versioning. -Undertake special projects as directed including working with other subject matter experts (SME) teams to facilitate cross training and coverage of all application areas. Qualifications This position requires: -This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as course work in the PeopleSoft HCM application. -Minimum 3-5 years of technical experience developing and supporting PeopleSoft, preferably the HCM application version 9.2 or higher and PeopleTools version 8.57 or higher. -Proven technical expertise within the Human Resources application. Development skills include proficiency with Integration Broker, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, Configuration Manager, SQL/SQR, XML Publisher. -Proven recent technical end to end development on major projects and modifications. Proven ability to create new development based on functional specifications. -Excellent application implementation lifecycle skills including experience with: translating business requirements into technical designs, contributing to fit/gap analysis, application configurations, and technical specifications. -Creative problem solving / strategic thinking skills to improve processes and solve complex problems. -Strong understanding of best practice coding techniques and testing skills. -Excellent analytical skills, debugging techniques and root cause analysis skills. -Excellent written and advanced verbal communication skills (including exceptional listening, mentoring and collaboration abilities). -Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, take initiative, and work well under pressure. -Must be flexible and able to work independently or in a team environment. -Desire and willingness to learn and implement new technology.
