Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Nurse Educators to develop and implement continuing education and orientation programs and conduct staff development and mandatory in-service programs for nursing and hospital staff. Nurse Educators develop, implement, and evaluate training for staff in the use of new products, equipment, and procedures; assess educational needs, and plan and implement programs to meet educational needs; prepare instructional materials; and develop and revise policies and procedures.

ARMC, which is owned and operated by the County of San Bernardino, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university affiliated teaching medical center featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care. ARMC, is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, certified Primary Stroke center, and a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and three Primary Care Family Health Centers. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's Services certified unit.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Per the August 5, 2021 CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including hospital facilities, must have their first dose of a one-dose regimen or their second dose of a two-dose regimen vaccination before the start of their employment. Workers may request an exemption from the vaccination requirements under the following: (1) the worker is declining vaccination based on Religious Beliefs, or (2) the worker is excused from receiving any COVID-19 vaccine due to Qualifying Medical Reasons. Valid exemptions must be submitted before the start of employment. Unvaccinated employees will be subject to weekly testing and must wear a face covering while in the hospital. 1) Certifications: Nurse Educators may be required to obtain additional certifications depending on the needs of the department.
2) Work Schedule: Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule as education and training may be provided to hospital staff on all shifts, weekends and holidays.
Candidates must possess all of the following:
License: Must possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Nurse with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
Certification: Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support certification.
Education: Must possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Experience: Three (3) years (within the past five years) of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital.
Substitution: A Master's Degree in Nursing may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
The ideal candidate has experience as a Nurse Educator in an acute care setting, and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing.
Examination: There will be a competitive evaluation based on a review of the Application and Supplemental Questionnaire. It is to your advantage to include as much relevant and detailed work experience as possible.
