Assistant Professor - Trauma Acute Care Surgery Lubbock 32290BR Position Description The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Surgery is seeking Trauma Acute Care Surgeons to join our growing division. Our ACS teams, covering two major tertiary referral hospitals, receive a large number of emergency general surgery, trauma and burn patients from the entire West Texas/ Eastern New Mexico region; our Level 1 trauma center is in the top decile for penetrating trauma among TQIP centers in the nation. This large, high acuity patient volume affords an excellent variety of surgical experience, and a great opportunity for clinical/outcomes research and education. All ACS surgeons follow a 12 hour shift model, with no 24 hour call. This model allows for work-life integration and time for administrative roles, education and research. The successful candidate must be BE/BC in General Surgery, with additional qualifications in trauma/critical care. The candidate should have exemplary clinical skills, a team spirit, collegiality and an interest in teaching and/or scholarly activity. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.
