Responsibilities include the study, use, and operation of transportation systems, assisting in transportation projects and activities, collaborating and developing strategic relationships with community organizations and non-profits, and reviewing the work of junior Transportation Planners and the work performed by less experienced Transportation Planners. Administer updates and the implementation of the City’s Austin Strategic Mobility Plan ( ASMP ). Coordinate with other departments and divisions to monitor the implementation of the ASMP including making recommendations to ensure future projects align with the ASMP . Analyze information related to transportation, such as land use policies, environmental impacts of projects, or long-range planning needs. Assist in reviewing documents and coordinating the City’s response to stakeholders and the community related to large and/or complex development and redevelopment projects. Respond to and monitor ASMP inbox. Collaborate with Engineers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation design issues. Generate and interpret data from traffic modeling software, geographic information systems, or associated databases.
