The Career Center offers premier programs and services at our San Bernardino campus, located in the foothills of San Bernardino and our Palm Desert campus located in the Coachella Valley. We empower students and alumni to develop a lifelong skill set for an ever-changing labor market through exploration, programming, and experiential learning opportunities to meet their personal and professional goals. We partner with local and national industry leaders to offer specialized programming, distinctive resources, and tailored events for over 20,000 current students as well as countless alumni across the Inland Empire and beyond. Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Career Center Director, the incumbent will proactively and strategically identify, build, cultivate and/or maintain professional relationships with local, regional, national and international employer for recruitment of university students and alumni.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Employer Relations Development and Coordination
Campus and Community Engagement:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with the Career Center Internship team, internship coordinators on-campus, and CSU counterparts.
- Identify existing and new organizations (i.e. non-profit, government, federal, municipalities, corporate) to connect with the appropriate resources and personnel at the Career Center and/or the university.
- Serve as campus wide Handshake platform lead
- Coordinate, plan, and monitor the on-campus recruitment program (i.e. on-campus interviews, Information Sessions, information tabling, Career Fairs).
- Strategically work with the Career Counselors to share job/internship opportunities to identify the best qualified candidates to match with the employer work needs.
- Create and facilitate employer related workshops for student to use best practices (i.e. networking, navigating career fairs) for students and alumni, in alignment with the Administrative Support Coordinator, Events.
- Guide students and alumni with the appropriate tools, technology, and resources offerings from the Career Center, including providing general assistance on Handshake to students, staff, and employers.
- Use innovative technology and maintain social media (i.e. YouTube, Instagram, FB, LinkedIn, snapchat) for marketing and communication with students and alumni.
- Coordinate all Employer Relations activities (events, interview sessions, etc.) by using the Career Center's platform "Handshake", in alignment with the Administrative Coordinator, Events for the Career Center.
- Collaborate with Career Center staff, and other CSU offices of employer relations within career centers in order to partner and to develop strategies for new programming and attracting new employers to participate on campus and engage with students
- Create and execute on-campus campaigns to visit all five academic college to conduct college needs assessments to align academia with the workforce needs, in collaboration with Administrative Coordinator, Events.
- Attendee at regional business councils, or organizations which many employers might be at all at once (e.g., member of riverside chamber of commerce)
- Collaborate with on and off-campus partners on employer related events held by either campus colleagues, student organizations and/or departments (e.g. Alumni Relations, Office of Student Engagement, office of Community Engagement, student clubs,
- Work with campus partners to promote student involvement in national conferences and internship opportunities that are student focused. (e.g., Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) or Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU)
- Utilize published student demographic data to recruit employers seeking a diverse workforce and part of the Career Center's "Employer Partner Program".
- Compile and report data on CC employer relations activities
- Track job market demand, trends in recruiting, job-offer data and hiring results for students in diverse academic majors.
- Utilize and maintain the Career Center database ( Handshake ) to generate reports, analyze data, document employer updates/actions on the weekly, monthly, and annually basis for effective benchmarking.
- Creation of reports on all Employer event outcomes using Handshake to share with administration, on-campus partners, and employers, as needed
- Consistently follow up with employers to conduct an employer survey after each employer engagement to measure success and/or program enhancements.

Education and Experience
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of individual and group behavior.
- General knowledge of the principles, practices and trends of the Student Services field as well as general knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices of the program area to which assigned.
- General knowledge of individual counseling techniques; general knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge, of the organizational procedures and activities of the specific campus to which the position is assigned.
- Working knowledge of student services programs outside the program to which immediately assigned.
- Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action.
- Ability to advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters.
- Ability to determine appropriate courses of action and proper techniques to utilize while engaged with individuals in personal interactions of an argumentative or sensitive nature.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate descriptions and explanations of problems brought forward by individuals or student organizations, analyze and define the problem, draw valid conclusions and project consequences of various alternative courses of action.
- Ability to carry out a variety of professionally complex assignments without detailed instructions.
- Ability to and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.
- Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related.
- Experience: Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area (Employer Relations/ Career Center) to which assigned may be preferred but is not required.
- A master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,691 per month
