Job Description and Duties PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR - COLORADO DESERT DISTRICT / Facilities and Development / CUYAMACA RANCHO STATE PARK The reporting location for this position is Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in Descanso, CA. This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief III. The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday to Thursday from 06:00 AM to 04:30 PM. This position is the District Roads and Trails Supervisor/Coordinator and provides leadership, direction, and coordination in the day-to-day operations of the District Roads and Trails Program. This position will work together with the District Resource Staff in carrying out the Resource Protection Projects as they pertain to the roads and trails. This position works throughout Colorado Desert District. Assists staff in planning, budgeting and executing resource management projects. Prepares budgetary requests, contract language, assessments and project descriptions for roads and trails projects. Reviews projects prescriptions for any road and/or trail work to be completed. Coordinates and records bi-weekly safety meetings, as well as ensures proper training on district roads and trails tools and equipment. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. Duties Description The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) in the Genesee Region is seeking a Trails Laborer to assist in maintaining and enhancing the trail systems within Letchworth State Park and the Genesee Region. The Letchworth Trails Laborer will work as part of a team to perform a wide range of trail maintenance and construction tasks. The incumbent will report directly to the assigned Park Supervisor or Trails Specialist and will work with up to four trail crew members and assist volunteer group projects. Housing is not provided. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: • Dimensional lumber stairs and retaining wall construction. • Bridge and boardwalk construction. • New trail construction. • Tread and drainage improvements. • Upkeep of stone staircases and retaining walls. • General facilities maintenance. • Hazard tree removal. • Off-season work will include winter trail grooming and risk tree removal activities in coordination with Parks operation staff. • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, with both hand and power tools. Job Description and Duties LIFEGUARD II (SEASONAL) - BAY AREA DISTRICT / SAN FRANCISCO BAY SECTOR Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Job Description and Duties LIFEGUARD II (SEASONAL) - BAY AREA DISTRICT / SAN FRANCISCO BAY SECTOR Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. This position works under the supervision of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger or Lifeguard). The reporting location is Angel Island State Park. Primary responsibilities include performing first aid and CPR as needed, detecting and rescuing persons or vessels in distress, educating visitors about rules and regulations, providing daily leadership for the Lifeguard I (Seasonal) staff and working as a deckhand on State Park vessels, with an emphasis on assisting peace officers with a wide variety of medical emergencies. This position works as a crew member on State Park vessels as a deckhand. Pre-employment and random drug testing is a U.S. Coast Guard requirement. Time worked as a deckhand can count toward boat operator licensure. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience toward a career as a licensed boat operator, and offers the opportunity to build a base of knowledge for becoming a rescue boat operator at another unit in the future. Training opportunities to improve knowledge, skills and abilities may be offered. This is a uniformed position, and the employee must abide by all applicable departmental uniform and grooming standards.
