Position Summary

T he Audiology Clinic Administrative Support Coordinator I (ASC I) provides primary administrative staff support in the Maryjane Rees Language Speech and Hearing Center-Audiology Clinic (Audiology Clinic) and the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree program, which is housed in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The ASC I is responsible for the full scope of project activities in the Audiology Clinic, including, execution, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. The ASC I works directly with the Department Chair, the Audiology Program Director, and the Audiology Clinic Education Coordinator. The Audiology Clinic Coordinator, as delegated by the Audiology Program Director and the Maryjane Rees Language, Speech, and Hearing Center Clinic Coordinator, manages day-to-day workload. This position will also collaborate with the Maryjane Rees Language, Speech and Hearing Center and Department Administrative Staff positions.

This position provides and/or directs general reception, office, and clerical support for clients, research participants, students, faculty, and staff. Tasks include scheduling clients for audiological services using electronic medical records/electronic health software, managing client correspondences (phone, postal mail, email, etc.), collecting, verifying, and filing student and supervisor information related to accreditation guidelines and licensing board regulations (including certification if applicable), managing purchasing of equipment and supplies by utilizing campus procurement tools such as Procard and requisition systems and managing AuD Program Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) and Graduate Assistant (GA) hiring process.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $3505 per month - $4005 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3505 per month - $5508 per month

Salary Grade/Range: 1

Work Hours: M-F 8:00 - 5:00

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders continues this commitment by providing speech-language pathology and audiology services to our community through our on-campus clinic, the Maryjane Rees Language, Speech, and Hearing Center.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These qualifications would normally be obtained through high school program, technical/vocational program or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Required Qualifications

4. Ability to independently plan and organize multiple priorities and projects across varied work units and settings and take related initiatives.

5. Ability to apply a wide variety of policies and procedures.

6. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.

7. Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.

8. Ability to draft and compose correspondence, standard reports, and create marketing materials for campus review and approval.

9. Ability to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.

10. Attention to detail and outstanding organization and problem-solving skills.

11.Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems and packages (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Canva, etc.).

16. Experience with planning and holding events.

17. Experience in answering questions regarding major requirements and referring students to appropriate resources for more complicated or in-depth questions.
