Job Description

Position Description

This recruitment is Open Until Filled and may close at any time.

Under general supervision, a Parking Enforcement Officer III, provides lead direction to assigned staff and performs investigative and field work involving enforcement of the California Vehicle Code and Fresno Municipal Code by issuing citations.

A Parking Enforcement Officer III is the advanced level in the Parking Enforcement Officer series, which regularly makes work assignments and delegates duties to staff. Incumbents in the Parking Enforcement Officer series enforce Fresno Municipal Code and California Vehicle Code in relation to parking and non-moving violations, interacting and answering questions from the public. This class differs from Parking Enforcement Officer II in that the latter is the journey level class in which incumbents perform the full range of duties but do not have on-going responsibility for providing lead direction to others. Depending upon assignment, a Parking Enforcement Officer III may be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.

A vacancy currently exists in the Parking Division of the Planning and Development Department. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period for up to a maximum of two (2) years at the City's discretion. Should the competitive process be suspended for this recruitment, the eligibility list may be limited to three (3) months.
