(Student Services Professionals III)

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,025 - $5,275

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,025 - $7,159 per month
  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
  • Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of the Cross Cultural and Gender Center, the incumbent performs professional Student Services work and tasks in accordance with established work procedures to contribute to the safe and welcoming campus environment. The incumbent plans and organizes educational, social and co-curricular programs and events such as lectures, discussion groups, workshops, concerts, films, conferences and other special events. The incumbent also assists with maintaining programs and resources that focus on all genders, social justice, and interpersonal violence prevention.

Key Qualifications
  • Ability to:
    • Advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters and provide appropriate recommendations and referrals.
    • Determine appropriate courses of action and proper technique to utilize while engaged with individuals in personal interactions of an argumentative or sensitive nature
    • Interpret and evaluate descriptions and explanations of problems brought forward by individuals or student organizations
    • Ability to foster an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and leveraged to achieve the vision and mission of the university.
    • Interpret and apply program rules and regulations; gather and analyze data; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; communicate and present clear and concise information orally and in written reports.

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required
  • Three years of professional experience in Cultural programs and services, student development and student activities programs or closely related programs and services.
    • A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
