Assistant Professor of Strategic Management

The Management, HR and Information Systems Area in the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, invites applicants for a tenure-track, academic year position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the primary area of Strategic Management. Interest and ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate (MBA) level classes is desirable.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated;, the anticipated hiring range is $122,900 to $135,800.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A doctorate or equivalent degree in Business with an emphasis in Strategic Management or closely related field from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. The Ph.D. should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2024.

Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

The Management, Human Resources, and Information Systems Area includes faculty who are actively engaged in high-quality scholarly research and who support the university’s commitment to experiential learning (“Learn By Doing”). Area faculty have published in outlets such as Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Change Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Information Systems Management.
