The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, is excited to invite qualified applicants to apply for two full-time, tenure-track, academic-year faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank with teaching and research interests in data analytics, operations research, and/or simulation as applied to the field of industrial engineering in areas such as healthcare or other service applications, manufacturing, government or non-profit organizations, and engineering education beginning Fall 2024. As part of its strategic initiative, the IME department seeks faculty that can develop and disseminate innovative and effective engineering education practices that integrate social and technical disciplines.

Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected. Anticipated hiring range: $96,408 - $107,000 per year

About the IME Department - As a premier comprehensive polytechnic university, Cal Poly is ranked as the best public master's university in the western U.S., while its Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering program is also ranked as one of the best public master's level programs in the United States. The program has a strong focus on undergraduate and masters level education through a laboratory intensive, hands-on curriculum. Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in industrial engineering, systems engineering, or closely related field is required by the start of the appointment. Candidates must have a strong commitment to inclusive teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction as well as broad-based knowledge of industrial engineering. An ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and administration from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds is essential.

The ideal candidate will show evidence of attention to and/or the potential to contribute on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion across their teaching, scholarship, and service.
