About University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB

(This is not a state position)

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, part-time, non-benefited position through 8/31/2023 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary: $15.50-$18.00 per hour

Location: San Bernardino

Work Schedule

Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged, but typically, Monday-Friday within the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm though some nights, weekend work may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Director, the Administrative Assistant will work independently to:
  • Supports managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office.
  • Schedules meetings and supports visitors.
  • Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient
  • Resolve administrative problems
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects and
  • expediting work results.
  • Makes travel arrangements for senior staff such as booking flights, cars, and hotel or restaurant
  • reservations.
  • Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.
  • Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication.
  • Develops administrative staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and
  • experiential growth opportunities.
  • Provides information by answering questions and requests.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • Experience:
    • 3 years of administrative assistant experience, knowledge of appropriate

      software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Other:
    • Professional demeanor
