DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK

Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position

POSITION AVAILABLE: One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2023, and/or Spring Semester 2024.

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Social Work consists of approximately 18 faculty including tenured and both full and part-time lecturers. It offers a Master in Social Work degree and is an accredited Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) program. The department admits approximately 75 students per year into two-degree options: Community Mental Health (CMH) or Children, Youth, and Family (CYF). DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Lecturers may be needed to teach in various social work curriculum sequences, including generalist and advanced practice, policy, research, field practicum, human behavior & the social environment, or race, gender, and inequality. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord, and Online campuses. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California.

RANK AND SALARY: Lecturer.

Lecturer AY ( Range 2 ) - $4,530 - $6,056

Lecturer AY ( Range 3 ) - $5,405 - $11,994

Lecturer AY ( Range 4 ) - $6,190 - $13,172

Lecturer AY ( Range 5 ) - $7,794 - $13,797

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

DATE OF APPOINTMENT: Fall Semester begins August 21, 2023, and Spring Semester begins January 16, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have an MSW. University teaching experience preferred.
