Arrowhead Regional Medical Center's (ARMC) is recruiting for a Mammography Technologist who prepares and performs mammographic specialized procedures for the diagnosis of breast conditions. Duties include explaining procedures to patients; preparing and positioning patients for exams; determining equipment requirements for the procedures and imaging or film necessary for physician's preliminary viewing; and assisting the physicians or nurses during procedures.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

ARMC, which is owned and operated by San Bernardino County, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university-affiliated teaching medical center featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care. ARMC is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, a Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and four Primary Care Family Health Centers (FHC). The FHCs offer comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals and families of all age groups. The FHCs are staffed with experienced attending physicians and resident physicians from the Medical Center. ARMC is a Primary Stroke Center and has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births per year. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Shift Availability: ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants must indicate their shift availability in the Supplemental Questionnaire of the application. Shift differentials are provided.

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.

Promotion: Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist I are eligible for promotion to Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist II upon meeting the minimum requirements for said higher level classification and receiving a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must promote within twenty-four (24) months or be terminated.

Certifications: Candidates must obtain certification in Fluoroscopy with the State of California, Department of Public Health within six (6) months of hire or be terminated. Must possess a Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.

Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be “fully vaccinated and boosted” for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess each of the following:

Certification:
  • Must possess and maintain current certifications with the State of California, Department of Public Health as a Radiologic Technologist and Mammographic Radiologic Technologist.
  • CRT/Fluoroscopy issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health (must obtain within the first six (6) months of hire or be terminated) .
  • Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Registration:
  • Must possess and maintain registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and possess a California State Mammography certificate OR the ARRT (M) credential.

Experience:
  • Special Procedures RT I: No experience Required (Trainee level)
  • Special Procedures RT II: One (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist -OR- six (6) months of supervised Mammography clinical experience.
