Job Description

The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Per Diem Occupational Therapists I and II to perform a wide variety of individual therapy programs for the occupational rehabilitation of patients.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Plan, implement, and supervise patients' Occupational Therapy programs as prescribed by physicians based on individual's unique needs and discuss treatment alternatives with physicians and other treatment staff to determine the most appropriate plan.
  • Observe and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and suggests treatment changes.
  • Confers with physicians and other staff regarding patients' treatment and progress, records treatments and evaluations.
  • Develop, design, construct, or direct the construction of special adaptive equipment and gives patients instructions on the use of special equipment.
  • Evaluate perceptual motor skills and sensory integrative functioning and implements therapy in these areas.

Per Diem - Occupational Therapist I

Annual Salary: $118,664.00 - $124,072.00

Per Diem - Occupational Therapist II

Annual Salary: $108,472.00 - $113,401.60

These positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Positions participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process : Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.

Certifications: Incumbent must maintain their license and certification throughout the duration of their employment.

Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be “fully vaccinated and boosted” for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.

Minimum Requirements

Per Diem Occupational Therapist I Applicants must possess all of the following:

License:
Must possess and maintain a valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs (California Board of Occupational Therapy).

Certification: Must possess and maintain a Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support(BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. Per Diem Occupational Therapist II Applicants must possess all of the following:

License:
Must possess and maintain a valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs (California Board of Occupational Therapy).

Experience: One (1) year of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Certification: Must possess and maintain Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working in acute care is highly desired.
