The Position

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) has an opening for a Clinical Social Worker 2 in the Laughlin Behavioral Health Center located in Laughlin, NV. The position requires a working knowledge of theories/principles of counseling and psychotherapy; symptoms, characteristics and treatment of mental illness, emotional and behavioral disorders; crises intervention techniques; case management practices and procedures; psycho-diagnostic techniques; laws governing abuse and neglect of clients. Ability to assess, develop and implement treatment plans and goals; write comprehensive evaluations, reports, and recommendations. Will coordinate and obtain community services for clients, actively participate on the treatment team and provide crisis intervention. Emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, formulating individualized treatment plans that lead to self-sufficiency. Ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies.

Applicants MUST have licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers. This is a full-time position with an anticipated work schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Incumbents work an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours per week. Duty location in Las Vegas may be considered with telehealth to Laughlin, NV with one time a week travel using a state provided vehicle. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Notes Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
