    Job Announcement

    The City of Chandler Police Department, Strategic Initiatives Bureau, is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as Crime Analysis Supervisor. This is a full-time, exempt position with full benefits. The anticipated work schedule is Mon-Thurs 0730-1730.

    Who we are

    The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 362 sworn officers and 177 civilians, serves a growing population of close to 287,945 residents. The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. The Patrol Operations Division consisting of three precincts, 1) Main Station - Downtown & North Chandler, 2) Desert Breeze - West Chandler, and 3) Chandler Heights - South Chandler, work in concert with the Criminal Investigations Division, Operational Support Division, and Professional Services Division to meet the needs of the community.     Who we are looking for

    Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; and is competently able to do the following when assigned to the Chandler Police Department:
    • Must be able to supervise and oversee the daily operations of the assigned area by setting goals and objectives, manage schedules and work priorities, monitors and evaluates performance.
    • Must be able to facilitate access to resources and training, provide guidance and addresses issues, conduct interviews and make hiring decisions.
    • Must conduct research and strategic crime analysis; searches for patterns; analyzes crime data; develops victim and suspect profiles.
    • Shall develop and manage databases.
    • Responsible for preparing maps, charts and graphs related to crime trends.
    • Shall assist investigators and other personnel from within and outside the City; respond to internal and external inquiries.
    • Must be able to complete special projects.
    • Shall prepare presentations.
    • Shall participate in crime suppression efforts.
    • Responsible for managing crime data reporting; provides reports to internal departments, as required and external agencies.

    Minimum qualifications
    • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Statistics or a related field; and
    • Must possess at least 5-years of experience in the planning, researching and statistical analysis of crime trends or compiling data, analyzing findings and writing reports that indicate relationships between various parties; experience with Geographical Information System (GIS) software; one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience; or
    • The above requirements may be substituted for any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
    • Must be able to obtain a DPS Level B Terminal Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire.
    • Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record.


    Supervision

    Work is performed under the supervision of the Intelligence Support Section Lieutenant. This position does supervise the work of other professional and para-professional personnel.

    This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits, with a varied work schedule to include day, swing, and night shifts. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 6 months should another position become available.
