    What You'll Be Doing

    Wake County's Human Resources Department is seeking an HR Business Partner to support the Department of Housing Affordability and Community Revitalization (HACR). In this impactful role, you will support a mission-driven team focused on affordable housing and community revitalization, offering you a unique opportunity to shape organizational success through strategic HR leadership.

    As a strategic partner to department leadership, you’ll work across multiple HR program areas, emphasizing collaboration and alignment with organizational goals:
    • Manager Consultation & HR Guidance: Conduct regular meetings with managers to provide HR consultation, policy interpretation, guidance, and support
    • Talent Acquisition Support: Partner with hiring managers to understand position needs and submit requisitions, collaborating closely with the Talent Acquisition team to drive hiring efforts and support recruitment activities
    • Classification & Salary Administration: Liaise between hiring managers and Compensation Consultants to coordinate classification requests, finalize offer ranges, and ensure accurate job descriptions
    • Onboarding & HR Logistics: Manage new hire orientations, paperwork, and related department-specific logistics to ensure a seamless employee transition
    • Employee Engagement & Retention: Collaborate with leadership to advance employee engagement, retention, organizational development, and change management

    Additionally, you will analyze HR metrics and trends in partnership with central HR to provide data-driven insights and solutions. Your role is essential in aligning HR strategies with business goals to boost department performance and enhance the overall employee experience.

    The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field
    • Three years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent role(s)
    • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

    Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

    • Demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager, supporting a broad range of HR programs and initiatives within local government or a large organization with complex HR requirements
    • Knowledge of affordable housing development or housing services
    • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, IPMA-CP, IPMA-SCP, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP

    Hiring Range: 61,569 - 83,123

    Market Range: 61,569.00 - 104,676.00
