This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction’s (OA-FMDC) Security Unit. OA-FMDC is committed to strengthening the State’s investments while providing a safe and secure environment through innovative design solutions and excellent customer service.
FMDC Vision - Building for a Stronger Tomorrow (BFAST)
- Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
- Serve as a liaison between OA-FMDC and customers to address state-owned building concerns.
- Review project plans and assist in the maintenance and installation of multiple systems including security, fire, and c losed-circuit television ( CCTV) systems.
- Perform security inspections and generate reports and documentation for security-related incidents.
- Assist in the development of training materials and reference guides, relating to security programs.
- Support the Badge Office Administration team with State ID badge activities.
- Support the Security Unit Manager and Security Specialist with the oversight of guard contracts.
- Contribute to the coordination of safety and security programs to promote a safe and secure environment for state team members and customers.
- Assist in the implementation of agency-wide security protocols and compliance of state regulations, statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Help maintain inventory, workspaces, machinery, and equipment.
- Participate in hands-on technical work to expand your knowledge of building security operations best practices.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or in a technical or vocational college.
- General knowledge of security practices and methodology.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.
Preferred Field(s) of Study - Security Studies;
- Emergency Management;
- National Security;
- Public Policy;
- Facilities Management and Operations; or
- Another related field.

If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
*This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces. This list is not all inclusive, but a general representation of duties that may be encountered in this position, however other duties may be assigned contingent upon business needs. Please note, this position is considered a “Category 2” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime (hours actually worked over forty hours in a workweek) at the rate of time and one-half.
