    Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    Why you’ll love this position:

    Within the Division of Learning Services, the Office of Quality Schools works to manage the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP), the state’s accreditation system for public school districts. This office also administers a wide range of state- and federally-funded programs that assist local schools (Title I, Title III and other federal programs), charter and other innovative schools, as well as developing a statewide system of support for schools, communities and families. Schools also are provided assistance on federal and state-developed improvement initiatives which are coordinated with other state and regional services.

    • Assist in the administration of the Department's Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Consolidated. The section has direct supervision authority for the following grants: Title I.A, Title I (a), Title II.A, Title IV.A, and Title V.B.
    • Review and interpret federal regulations pertaining to ESEA including Title I.A, Title I(a), Title II.A, Title IV.A, Title V.B and REAP schools.
    • Review and approve Title end of year reports (EOY).
    • Identify and act as the liaison for Distinguished Schools for the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators. This will include guiding the schools through the selection and documentation process.
    • Provide technical assistance and support for superintendents, principals and local federal programs coordinators in understanding, developing, completing, implementing and monitoring the ESEA budget application, federal reports and the ESEA consolidated plans. As well as, identifying deadlines, and providing follow-up support for end-of-year requirements. Meet with Title I teachers and directors to discuss Title I services, implementation options, and practices. Provide updates on changes to Title I requirements.
    • Process and approve federal applications and revisions and assure nonpublic representation is apparent in the application process for LEAs assigned by the Federal Programs Director.
    • Develop publications such as manuals, applications, data collection tools and program evaluation reports.
    • Plan, coordinate, and conduct technical assistance and information workshops for Department, state, and national audiences related to federal program requirements, effective program planning, data-driven decision making, professional development, grant writing, and program evaluation.
    • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, social services, or related field.


    OR

    • Four or more years progressive experience in compliance related work in education, accounting, business administration, or closely related experience.
