    Job Summary

    Mohave County Public Health- Nutrition & Health Program Division is looking fill a Site Coordinator position.

    The Nutrition and Health Promotion Division administers a variety of grant-funded nutrition and health education programs including WIC, Tobacco Cessation, AZ Health Zone, and Overdose Data to Action.

    Site Coordinator-> Salary Range 11 Step 1-11 $19.13 - $25.73/hr.
    Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

    Weekends and holidays off.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Supervises, coordinates and performs a variety of administrative work such as scheduling of subordinate personnel, maintaining records of activities, responding to request for information or services, and performing related administrative, planning and research activities, and preparing statistical information. Prepares reports of meals served, meals delivered and other related required information.
    • Recruits, trains, oversee, and assist subordinates and volunteers in the performance of duties.
    • Provides information to clients regarding community resources available for assistance.
    • Plans and reviews complete menus to insure compliance with the policies, regulations, and nutritional and dietary guidelines for the elderly. Reviews food purchase requests and invoices to monitor expenditures.
    • With the assistance of subordinates and volunteers, supervises the packaging of meals according to established policies and procedures to insure proper temperature, handling of food and portion control. Oversees the serving of meals at site and monitors the handling, serving and temperature of foods in accordance with established policy, procedures and methods
    • Coordinates the transportation meal delivery program which includes ensuring meals are delivered; monitoring general health of shut-ins are reported and if required, emergency medical services are requested; transportation is provided to the elderly; motor vehicles are in good working order; and appropriate statistical records are being kept.
    • Oversees meal reservations. Collects monies, completes daily cash count, prepares and performs deposit, and maintains statistical records of meals served and other senior program activities.
    • Drive to and collects food from various food banks and donating vendors/stores.
    • Delegates or performs housekeeping tasks and monitors the safety, security and cleanliness of area. Inspects kitchen appliances and equipment and motor vehicles for cleanliness and malfunctions. Cleans and does weekly maintenance of assigned motor vehicle referring maintenance and repairs to supervisor. Arranges for maintenance and repair as required.
    • Performs special assignments as requested.
    • Performs related work as required.
    • Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.
    • Create and maintain a supportive work environment with other departments and community programs, Public Health divisions, and Public Health leadership on accreditation domain while maintaining a culture of quality improvement.
    • Apply basic principles, practices, techniques, teaching, and communication methods related to the age, gender, race/ethnicity, educational level and socioeconomic status of community members.
    • Communicate and act in a cultural competent and professional manner maintaining cooperative relationships with community members, co-workers, and work contacts.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Minimum Education, Experience, and Training:
    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Two (2) years progressively responsible clerical, food handling and transporting.
    • Six (6) months experience in programs for the elderly.
    • OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.

    SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENT
    • Must obtain a level one fingerprint clearance card within six (6) months of employment.
    • Obtain Food Manager’s certification and Food Handler’s card within 6 months of hire date.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of senior programs services and activities.
    • Roads in assigned area(s).
    • Food handling techniques to assure safe and sanitary transport, serving, food portioning, and storing of food.
    • Safety hazards, practices, precautions and procedures related to institutional food preparation.
    • City and County health and sanitation and fire safety requirements applicable to institutional food preparation and services.
    • Nutritional programs for elderly.
    • Community resources.
    • Record keeping.
    • Safely operating assigned motor vehicles to include vans.
    • Principles and practices of leadership, supervision and training.
    • Food handling techniques to assure safe and sanitary transport, serving, food portioning, and storing of food.
    • Organize, assign, coordinate, train, supervise and evaluate work activities and to motivate and control assigned personnel effectively.
    • Effectively service, maintain and operate assigned appliances, equipment and tools in accordance with standard operating and safety procedures.
    • Understand and follow, quickly and accurately, oral and written instructions and perform computations involving fractions, decimals and percentages and accounting related math.
    • Accurately prepare effective written correspondence and reports.
    • Use good judgment to solve work problems within established guidelines.
    • Work independently in completing assigned tasks and in maintaining records, forms and reports of the assignment.
    • Deal courteously with the public, primarily senior citizens.
    • Work and communicate effectively with all people contacted through performing responsibilities and duties.
    • Fulfill all physical requirements of the class.
    • Perform the essential functions of the class with or without a reasonable accommodation.
