Denver International Airport (DEN) is looking for a Baggage Handling System (BHS) Administrator to join our Operation and Maintenance Contract Administration Team. In this position you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of DEN's Baggage Handling System (BHS), Individual Carrier System (ICS), and the overall service delivery to DEN's airline partners, TSA, and our passengers. The DEN BHS is one of the largest in-line screening systems in the country at over ten miles long, nearly 5,000 drives and 26 sort locations. DEN processes over 25 million bags per year through our BHS with large growth expected in the future. DEN is looking for someone who is knowledgeable in baggage handling systems or similar systems (Distribution Centers, Parcel Processing facilities), computer savvy, detail-oriented, and customer service focused. The ideal candidate has strong technical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in writing scopes of work, detailed event summaries, creating and interpreting reports, and data base usage is critical. Someone who has facilitation, mediation, public speaking, and presentation skills are also important to present technical information to a variety of audience members. The BHS Administrator will review BHS and ICS maintenance contractor reports, meet with the contractor(s), technical advisors, Airlines and TSA stakeholders to coordinate the resolution of operational issues. You will also ensure O&M Contractors follow contractual language to meet system performance requirements and availability for the airline partners of the Airport. Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Manage several contracts related to the operation and maintenance of the BHS and ICS Assist with budget creation for annual O&M Contracts relating to your functional area Lead and attend meetings with various Contractors and Stakeholders Ensure key performance indicators are met and assist with resolving deficiencies when required Assist with technical reviews of new systems and technical specifications. Assist with testing new systems when required to ensure they operate as expected Inspect the BHS and ICS and surrounding facilities to ensure areas are clean and safe for operations Coordinate associated work with other agencies, technical advisors, and various DEN departments to achieve work objectives Recommend and implement goals, policies, and procedures for providing effective and efficient services and programs Prepare clear and concise analytical and statistical reports Analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals Interpret and apply federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Respond to requests and inquiries from various stakeholders and the public Understand and follow oral and written instructions Recognize potential on-the-job hazards and respond appropriately Other duties as assigned About You Our ideal candidate will have: Five years of specific BHS work experience as a Manager, Project Manager, Site Supervisor, Senior Technician, BHS Engineer, BHS Designer or Consultant. Five years of experience at a manager level in Baggage Handling Systems or other related technical fields preferred.
