Description: The Media Production Specialist is a broad classification with three position skill levels. The Business Services Division markets resources available to employers through Workforce Development. Incumbents provide direct supervision to Family Services Specialists on a daily basis and are responsible for overseeing a major program. With ninety-two allocated employees who work in six locations throughout Stanislaus County, SCWD prepares individuals for jobs that are in demand by local businesses and provides businesses with referrals of qualified job applicants. Administration, which includes the Human Resources/Safety, facilities, Finance/Operations, Contracts & Planning, Marketing and Information Technology divisions, supports the day-to-day program activities of the Department. Support activities include accounting, audits, employee and participant payroll processing, State reporting, grant billing, budgeting, contract management/monitoring, legislative analysis and implementation, equipment management, data imaging, website management and inventory control. The Business Services Division markets resources available to employers through Workforce Development. These include services such as identifying and hiring qualified candidates, aligning training opportunities to meet the needs of employers and jobseekers, and working with employers to identify work-based learning opportunities. These services lead to client self-sufficiency and provide businesses with qualified job candidates. In addition, Business Services assists employers with labor market information, referrals to resources and job fairs to ensure the clients served obtain employment. The Client Services Division provides a wide range of employment and training services to adults, dislocated workers, Welfare to Work recipients and youth in the community through various programs at four Job Centers located across the County.
