About Our Job As aPlumbing Inspector, you will provide excellent customer service, ensure equitable service delivery to both external and internal customers, and uphold the Bureau's customer service standards in a challenging and fast-paced environment. In this role, you work closely with customers to help them understand how codes and other regulations apply to their projects. Typical duties include performing inspections, writing inspection reports, entering inspection results via telephone and computer, maintaining detailed and accurate records, interpreting information from plans and maps, and explaining codes and policy to the public. The work requires knowledge of the relevant codes and regulations, and discretion and judgment in applying them. This position will write detailed inspection reports and take appropriate action. The Plumbing Inspector also assists in field training of other inspectors; and responds to calls to work during emergencies. Plumbing Inspectors are responsible for providing assistance in an equitable manner to diverse customers.
