Description Under direction, to scrub in and perform specialized and complex diagnostic and interventional urological and radiological procedures in an operating room and to manage the urological stone program in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Distinguishing Characteristics The Urology Interventional Manager (UIM) performs major urological interventional procedures and scrubs in to assist physicians in the Operating Room for seed implantation and genitourinary radiology procedures, as well as operates and troubleshoots equipment, as needed. In addition to performing the administrative coordination of patient care, this classification is responsible for the technical oversight of the scrub-in to assist in complex urology procedures and performs in-service training to other technicians. The UIM classification is distinguished from the Urology Clinical Coordinator (UCC) classification in that the UIM requires advanced experience and certification in radiologic fluoroscopy urological procedures. Description Under direction, to scrub in and perform specialized and complex diagnostic and interventional urological and radiological procedures in an operating room and to manage the urological stone program in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Distinguishing Characteristics The Urology Interventional Manager (UIM) performs major urological interventional procedures and scrubs in to assist physicians in the Operating Room for seed implantation and genitourinary radiology procedures, as well as operates and troubleshoots equipment, as needed. In addition to performing the administrative coordination of patient care, this classification is responsible for the technical oversight of the scrub-in to assist in complex urology procedures and performs in-service training to other technicians. The UIM classification is distinguished from the Urology Clinical Coordinator (UCC) classification in that the UIM requires advanced experience and certification in radiologic fluoroscopy urological procedures. UIMs are also assigned to perform interventional urological procedures, scrub in to assist the physician, and have a license in radiology and fluoroscopy.
