The City & County of Denver - Parks & Recreation Department offers Youth Sports programming for kids, ages 3 - 17 years. Our team of devoted coaches enrich the lives of youth through engagement of sports, learning the fundamentals of numerous sports including baseball, basketball, coach pitch, t-ball, softball, flag football, gymnastics, tumbling, cheer leading, volleyball, track & field and soccer. We are looking for coaches to start as early as August 16th to be ready for training before the season begins on August 30th - October 30th. We are looking for assistant coaches for multiple age groups: Volleyball - Ages 7-14 Soccer - Ages 5-12 Flag Football - Ages 5-14 Assistant coaches have the following job duties for each league: Serve as a role model for youth in a sports program focused on sportsmanship, fun, skill development and character development Assist with the implementation of fun & creative practice plans for youth ages 3-17 years Commit to 3 hours of helping coach a week per team in season (1 practice and 1 game) Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants Support program rules, department policies and provide conflict resolution and behavior management when necessary Obtain NYSCA Certification (Coaches Certification) Attend all mandatory training and workshops This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
