Created in 1956 and governed by the SJRA Board of Directors, the San Jose Redevelopment Agency (SJRA) is dedicated to improving
the quality of life in San Jose.
Through a comprehensive and balanced program, the SJRA
continues to revitalize and enliven San Jose's Downtown,
neighborhoods, and industrial areas.
The SJRA:
*Builds affordable housing
*Upgrades transportation systems
*Restores and preserves historic buildings
*Rejuvenates neighborhoods
*Develops new parks, libraries, youth centers, sports facilities,
and cultural institutions
*Stimulates private investment in hotel, office, and retail
development
