The Division of Public Defender Services is an agency of the State of Connecticut, established by Chapter 887 of the Connecticut General Statutes. The agency provides legal representation in accordance with both U.S. and Connecticut constitutions to any person charged with a crime in Connecticut who does not have the financial ability to hire an attorney.
