A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education/Training: Equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by specialized training in industrial waste treatment, pretreatment facility inspection, and storm water regulations and compliance. License or Certificate: Possession of a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record is an on-going requirement. Possession of a California Water Environment Association Environmental Compliance Inspector - Grade I certificate and a Qualified Stormwater Practitioner certificate are required within eighteen (18) months of hire and must be maintained as a continued condition of employment.
