    Job Description

    As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Associate in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. In this role, you will contribute to a caring, team-focused culture built on reliability, innovation, and integrity while making a meaningful impact each day.

    Position Type: Full Time

    Pay Rate: $20.71 / Hour

    Job Schedule:

    DayTimeWed02:00 PM - 10:00 PMThur02:00 PM - 10:00 PMFri10:00 PM - 06:00 AMSat10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

    What You'll Do:

    • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
    • Respond to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
    • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, offices, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
    • Monitor entry points, screen restricted areas, and verify credentials or access permissions in accordance with post orders and applicable location requirements.
    • Support emergency and transit-related response efforts by directing foot traffic, assisting with evacuations, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or public agency representatives when needed.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
    • Customer service experience is preferred.
    • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
    • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
    • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet.
    • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
    • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
    • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
    • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
    • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
    • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
