    Role

    Yavapai County Community Health Services is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our Team!

    We are accepting applications for either a Dental Assistant I or a Dental Assistant II position, contingent upon the qualifications and skill set of eligible applicants.
    As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dental procedures, educating patients about oral health, and ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, possess strong organizational skills, and exhibit a commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred

    Hiring range for Dental Assistant I: $19.21 to $24.49 per hour, depending on qualifications
    Hiring range for Dental Assistant II: $22.23 to $28.35 per hour, depending on qualifications

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    Dental Assistant I:
    • Prepares materials and tray set up to assist dentist during dental procedures. Sterilizes and disinfects instruments. Prepares and cleans operatory.
    • Records and reviews patients' medical and dental histories. Monitors patients during dental procedures. Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
    • Performs clerical duties that include answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and processing messages and filing documents into the electronic dental record.
    • Maintains the stock of supplies and materials. Processes diagnostic x rays
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
    Dental Assistant II:
    • Prepares materials and tray set up to assist dentist during dental procedures. Sterilizes and disinfects instruments. Prepares and cleans operatory.
    • Records and reviews patients' medical and dental histories. Monitors patients during dental procedures. Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
    • Performs clerical duties that include answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and processing messages and filing documents into the electronic dental record.
    • Maintains the stock of supplies and materials.
    • Processes diagnostic x rays.
    • Takes preliminary alginate impressions for study models. Pours and trims study models.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Dental Assistant I:
    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
    Experience:
    No experience required.
    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess Basic Life Support for the Health Care Professional within three (3) months of hire.
    Must obtain X-Ray certification within one (1) year of hire.
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
    Must possess a current fingerprint clearance card Issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

    Dental Assistant II:
    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
    Experience:
    A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a dental assistant.
    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess Dental X-Ray License.
    Must possess Basic Life Support for the Health Care Professional.
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
    Must possess a current fingerprint clearance card Issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
