    Classification Title: Administrator I

    MPP employees serve at the pleasure of the campus President. MPPs do not serve a probationary period and never receive permanent status.

    Position Salary Range: $5,732 - $8,599 per month

    The anticipated hiring range for this position is $7,100 - $7,300 per month.

    Salary is commensurate with experience.

    About the Department/Position:

    The CSUDH Health & Well-Being cluster takes a holistic approach to care and offers a variety of resources to the CSUDH community to help students thrive while they pursue their academic success. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Operations and Recreation Programs the Recreation Programs Manager coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation programs including intramural sports, special events, outdoor adventures, summer youth/camp programming, and equipment rentals and retail operations. The position supports day-to-day program operations, student development, and participant engagement across assigned areas.

    The position plays an integral role in promoting an integrated model of health and well being, advancing student development, and supporting revenue-generating programming within the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center (HWRC), opening in 2026.

    In collaboration with a dynamic support team, the Recreation Programs Manager supports effective program operations and contributes to an engaging, welcoming, student-centered, and well-coordinated holistic wellness environment at the HWRC.

    This position requires a flexible schedule as events dictate.

    Some weekends and evenings required.

    Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Develop and coordinate intramural leagues, tournaments, and special events.
    • Oversee daily operations of intramural activities, including facility setup, risk management procedures, emergency response, and conflict resolution.
    • Utilize software for scheduling, standings, communication, and participant registration.
    • Evaluate program offerings to support alignment with industry trends, student interests, and developmental outcomes.
    • Manages operational goals, risk management practices, and programming for the Outdoor Adventure area.
    • Manage equipment inventory and coordinate purchasing for intramurals, camps, and outdoor adventures.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of relevant work experience in community recreation environment (or equivalent).
    • Demonstrated leadership or supervision experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong written and oral communication and skills.
    • Ability to work as part of and lead a team that collaborates effectively with colleagues.
    • Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports.
    • Knowledge of standard practices in outdoor recreation.
    • Knowledge of standard practices in youth programming and/or youth camps.
    • Analytical skills to identify problems; assess alternatives; and render consistent, logical decisions.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preferred to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
    • Preferred instructional/operational certifications:
      • Leave No Trace (LNT) Certificate
      • Wilderness First Responder or Advanced Wilderness First Responder
      • Preferred experience in officiating sports.
    • Preferred knowledge in Recreation Management Software "Fusion" and “Connect2”.
    • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain).
    • Experience supporting comprehensive risk management and emergency
