Responsibilities

What you'll do
- Lead recreation and aquatic programming by developing and implementing a diverse curriculum for all ages and abilities that reflects community needs and drives participation
- Manage swimming pool facilities and aquatic operations by overseeing daily operations, staffing, budgets, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supervise part-time staff and volunteers by assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to support consistent, high-quality service
- Support program planning and improvement by assisting with program development, policies, procedures, and staff training to strengthen operations
- Serve as a community liaison by working with partner organizations, conducting outreach, and promoting recreation programs to increase awareness and engagement
- Oversee facilities, logistics, and documentation by inspecting spaces and equipment for safety, coordinating setup and teardown, tracking inventory and expenditures, and maintaining accurate records

REQUIRES
- An accredited Bachelor's degree; OR high school graduation and 4 years of experience in recreation management, community programming, sports management, wildlife management, arts programming, or therapeutic recreation.
- Must pass a preemployment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
- May be required to possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
