Pay: $20.48-$30.71 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Must be available for some weekends and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

What you'll do
- Support building and facility security by implementing procedures that protect employees, visitors, and municipal property
- Manage access control systems by creating and tracking employee ID cards and assigning appropriate security access levels
- Monitor, maintain, and support CCTV systems across office buildings and water process facilities to ensure continuous coverage
- Assist in overseeing contracted security guards by conducting site visits, supporting training, reviewing invoices, and managing supplies
- Conduct site investigations and respond to incidents involving accidents, damage, theft, or security concerns, ensuring issues are documented and addressed appropriately
- Support security training efforts, including New Employee Orientation and staff awareness programs

- Security incidents are handled professionally, documented accurately, and resolved promptly
- Contract security services operate effectively and align with departmental expectations

Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and possession of certificate of completion of a recognized police academy at the state, county or municipal level and 3 years experience as a fully commissioned police officer; OR an accredited Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related area and 1year of responsible security and/or law enforcement experience; OR high school graduation and 5 years of responsible security and/or law enforcement experience. Must be eligible to obtain a special police commission as issued by the KCMO Police Department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
