Intern - College (Temp)

Overview

The College intern will be given special assignments depending upon their special interest and skills. The special assignment will expand their educational learning from the Internship. They will have a mentor among the staff who supervises the special assignment. Interns will gain real-life work experience that compliments their education.

Responsibilities

• Assist directors, superintendents, managers, and staff in planning, design, and construction support.

• Assist in preparing plans and exhibits showing existing and proposed developments

• Assist in the preparation of bid documents for projects and the dissemination of the bid packet to prospective contractors

• Complete data collection activities for various types of gas industry studies as assigned

• Perform necessary analysis of data and present written report as directed

• Provide support to department goals and objectives by completing special projects

• Other Duties as assigned

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Temporary - Full-Time - Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

• Must be available to work additional hours as needed

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled in a College/University at the Junior or Senior level

• No Prior experience required

Licenses and Certifications

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
