  • Job Description

    Introduction

    The Construction Admin Supervisor (CAS) is a supervisory position that manages several inspectors for the delivery of vertical (primarily building) construction projects and reports directly to the Principal Project Manager. The CAS will review construction plans at various phases for constructability and compliance with city design standards. The CAS will review construction cost proposals prior to award and review change orders during construction. The CAS provides construction management for city vertical projects and assists the project managers during the construction phase of projects. The CAS reviews all submittals, RFI’s, ASI’s and all change order proposals. All pay applications are reviewed and approved by the CAS. The CAS assigns workload for the inspectors who conduct daily jobsite visits to enforce building code requirements as well as city design standards, quality and safety.

    Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $47.67/hour or $99,153.60/annually.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
    • Five years of experience in construction management, which includes two years' experience related to public agency projects. Experience working with professional consultants and construction contractors.
    • An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

    Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
    • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
    • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

    Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
