    As a Network Administrator I within the District Attorney’s Office, you will play a critical role by supporting and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance. You will work with virtualization platforms, Windows server environments, and enterprise systems while collaborating with cross-functional Information Technology teams to support County operations.
    What you will typically be responsible for:
    • Administering and supporting on-premises and cloud-based systems infrastructure
    • Managing and maintaining virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and VMware)
    • Supporting Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Administering print servers, file services, and backend systems
    • Performing patch management and system updates to ensure security compliance
    • Supporting enterprise software lifecycle management (deployment, updates, retirement)
    • Monitoring system performance, availability, and capacity
    • Identifying, assessing, and remediating system vulnerabilities as part of ongoing cybersecurity management efforts
    • Implementing and maintaining security controls, hardening standards, and compliance requirements
    • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues across environments
    • Providing front-end user support in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues
    • Managing backups and ensuring disaster recovery readiness
    • Collaborating with network, security, and application teams on infrastructure and security initiatives
    • Maintaining documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and security practices

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information processing or a closely related field.

    Experience:
    Three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent experience in designing, installing, and helping to maintain complex multi-site Network Server Operating Systems, Systems administration including storage, virtualization and cloud.

    Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years.

    Desirable qualifications:
    • Experience supporting enterprise-level IT environments, including large-scale, multi-site infrastructure
    • Experience with NetApp, Rubrik, Tanium, KACE, Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop OS (current versions), Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms
    • Knowledge of automation and scripting
    • Familiarity with endpoint management tools and MDM solutions
    • Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)
    • Understanding of security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks


    Selection Process

Training and Experience Evaluation: Candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire at the time of filing. The responses to the training and experience questions on the supplemental questionnaire will be used to evaluate candidates' relevant education, training and/or experience as it relates to the Network Administrator I classification. (Weighted 100%)Final Selection Interviews: These will be scheduled by the department once the eligible list is established.

    The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
