*Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS .
Provides administrative and support services to the Houston Police Department’s Procurement Division. Maintains a strong customer service focus when working with client departments and P-Card holders, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Prepares reports and maintains records related to studies, purchases, and other procurement activities.
Coordinates, hires, and processes personnel for the Temporary Employees and Retired Officers programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assists with card issuance, renewals, and maintenance.
- Reconciles reports at the end of the month
- Assists with P-Card training.
- Monitors and audits P-Card activity and helps develop reports for each division in the Houston Police Department.
- Monitors P-Card purchase activity for compliance with all applicable policies and laws.
- Helps resolve P-Card issues whenever they arrive.
- Coordinates efforts with Houston Police Department temporary employees and Employment Program for Retired Officers
- Assist with approving time in recruiting program.
- Coordinate Houston Police Department Pay or Play program.
- Assist with special projects.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Three years of administrative experience is required.
Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERENCESPreference will be given to candidates with:
- Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access or similar reporting tools

PAY GRADE - 20 SALARY INFORMATION Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
