The Role:The Senior Manager of Maintenance (Systems) leads the daily activities of one or more sections of the LVCVA’s Maintenance and Operations Department. At the LVCVA, the Maintenance and Operations Department is responsible for interior and exterior maintenance, repairs, upkeep of all LVCVA facilities, buildings, grounds, parking lots, landscaping, fleet management, graphics & signage, utilities management and non-capitalized projects.
The Senior Manager of Maintenance Systems ensures operational efficiency and sustainability of all HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Working with immediate staff, this position will manage and develop standards and practices for the maintenance and operational integrity of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems, and will continuously work towards operational confidence and reliability of systems and staff productivity. This leader collaborates across departmental lines and contractors to ensure successful delivery of contracted maintenance services, and coordinates response to emergency situations that may impact operations. They provide a variety of service types with aggressive schedule and budget challenges to resolve complex problems spanning multiple areas or technical fields.

- Plan, schedule and evaluate the work performed by the HVAC, plumbing and electrical teams.
- Manage routine maintenance and emergency service on critical systems including diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, power distribution equipment, lighting, chillers, HVAC equipment, and commercial plumbing systems and equipment.
- Develop and maintain corrective work and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure all work performed conforms to requirements of the LVCVA, OSHA, and Building Codes.
- Establish and communicate all new operational procedures to ambassadors within engineering, vendors, and contractors.
- Develop and implement Building Management System (BMS) controls schedules and procedure to maximize efficiencies.
- Evaluate, document, plan and recommend capital equipment replacement, modifications, upgrades, and improvements. Analyze project information through automated information management systems to ensure all deliverables, specs, warranties, drawings, as-builts are received.
- Provide staff with appropriate safety, customer service and technical training and support aimed at expanding their capabilities.
- Conduct and ensure supervisors are implementing required safety inspections and shop safety meetings to maintain a vigilant focus on safety.
- Participate in the preparation of the operating and capital budgets, recommend and estimates facility repairs and improvements for inclusion in the annual budget.
- Assists People & Culture with collective bargaining issues, resolving grievances and furthering the organization’s relationship with the SEIU. Enforce provisions of labor contract and LVCVA policies and procedures. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff as needed.
- Promptly respond to emergency situations at all hours and days of the week.
What We’re Looking For - Associate of Applied Science in a related engineering field, Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, or related field desirable
- Demonstrated leadership experience over progressive building/facility maintenance and operations, preferably in the convention or hospitality industry
- Minimum Journeyman qualification in at least one skilled trade, (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical), multiple desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate with diverse groups
- Proven experience with BMS controls
- Ability to read and interpret, drawings, plans and schematics
- Knowledge of county, state, and federal regulations with building codes
- Strong strategic thinking and interpretation, research, and analytical skills
- A proactive solution providing leader
- Experience with computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Possess and maintain a valid Nevada driver’s license
- Complete an OSHA- 30 course in general or construction industry safety and health hazard recognition and prevention, developed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor. Completion card must be continuously maintained while employed in this classification. Failure to complete and maintain the course within twelve (12) months of hire will result in non-confirmation of appointment
