    TPWD MISSION

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    Under the direction of the Fleet and Radio Branch Manager or Team Lead, this position performs routine (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work and is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Fleet Management program. Responsibilities include administration of all vehicles, trailers, and equipment, registration and renewals, Headquarters Motor Pool assets, data entry, maintaining filing systems, training, material/property management, disseminating Toll Tag information, and other Fleet program procedures as assigned. Monitor, review, and research compliance with requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for assigned program. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.



    Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Graduation from High School or GED.

    Experience:

    Two years in general office administrative experience in fleet management.

    Licensure:

    Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid Texas class "C" driver license.

    NOTE: Retention of position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience:

    Experience in fleet management or vehicle and equipment management.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures;

    Knowledge of research techniques;

    Knowledge of program management processes and techniques.

    Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe products;

    Skill in verbal and written communication;

    Skill in gathering information and producing professional reports.

    Ability to communicate effectively;

    Ability to interpret and apply agency policies and procedures;

    Ability to efficiently manage large amounts of data, analyze, and produce reports.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Required to work 40 hours per week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday;

    Required to work overtime, as necessary;

    Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures;

    Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays;

    May be required to operate a State vehicle;

    Non-smoking work environment in State buildings and vehicles.
