Definition Come join the Newport Beach Police Department as a Senior Police Community Services Officer! The Newport Beach Police Department is seeking a Senior Police Community Service Officer. Currently, there is one full-time vacancy assigned to the Records division. This position's responsibilities include the following:
- Establish and maintain records
- Provide training and instruction of newly hired or assigned personnel
- Participate in the implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities of assigned civilian section
- Evaluate and work with employees to correct deficiencies
- Provide information and assistance to other Police Sections, other City departments and outside agencies
- Implement policies and procedures
- Responsibility for responding to subpoenas, public records requests, and court ordered sealings
- Regularly and predictably attend work; and
- Perform related duties as assigned

Experience & Education and License/CertificateA combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: One year of full time experience as a Community Services Officer.
Education: High school graduate, or G.E.D. equivalency; college course work with an emphasis on management is highly desirable.
License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
